The location of this picture is now the CarShop Pitstop in Lower Brook Street, Oswestry - again a fantastic building which remains in our little old town !
Welcome. I was born and bred in a beautiful town on the border of Wales, called Oswestry, in Shropshire.
In Oswestry, we are extremely lucky to be able to be surrounded by beauty and just a 5 minutes drive we can be in Wales.
There are a few sights on the internet about Oswestry but I dont feel any of them do justice to the history and heritage we have here. Any potential visitor to our lovely home town can be discouraged by local people who are quick to say what Oswestry doesn't have rather than looking at what we do have!
We do not have a shopping centre like you would find in many other large towns and cities, but you will find lots of small shops, owned by local people with quality products you won't be able to find in high street stores or supermarkets. Take a walk from the bus stop, up Beatrice Street passed a Tool Shop, numerous Butchers, a Blind Shop, Ladies Fasion Wear, Second Hand Bookstore, Florists, and none are national names! Carry on up Albion Hill passed a mobile phone shop, a Polish Shop and wander around the fanstastic outdoor and indoor markets for a few bargains !!
We have the best of all worlds living here, and recently Oswestry was voted in one of the national papers to be one of the most desireable places in the UK to live!
Now surely I can't be wrong?
Take a look at some of the photos and pictures of Oswestry that I have uploaded myself and feel free to contribute. Visitors to our town contribute so much to our smaller shops which give Oswestry its character and personality so lets show them why they should visit.
